The big news at Eurobike was that Stan’s had an all new wheel range. Called the S1 line, the wheels include their BST rims with WideRight profiles and Neo hubs, but more importantly they hit some impressively low figures in terms of pricing. Positioned somewhere between a replacement level wheel and a high end upgrade set, the S1 line drew a lot of attention after its introduction.

With dwindling assembly space at their New York headquarters due to increased demand, Stan’s needed a partner for S1 assembly. There aren’t too many outfits in the U.S. with the high output wheel building chops of QBP’s Wheelhouse, so partnering with QBP seemed like a natural fit. Taking on the assembly of all the S1 wheels and wheelsets in Minneapolis also allows QBP an exclusive on the new wheels, which is how you’ll end up finding them at your local bike shop…

Available in XC to Plus size widths (Crest, Arch, Flow, Sentry, Major, and Baron), S1 wheels use a 6061 aluminum double walled rim with eyeleted spoke holes, and a sleeved instead of welded joint (which is where the S in S1 comes from).

Built with Sapim butted spokes and Secure Lock brass nipples, the Neo hubs have end cap options for almost every axle configuration, and the hubs have a 36t drive ring with a 4 pawl free hub that can be upgraded to 6 pawl down the line.

Available in single wheels for replacement, or complete sets which will sell for $479 and come taped but do not include tubeless valves.

Dang, can I just get those sweet monocolor graphics on the regular Flows? Those are great! Please make them available to purchase on the website if you haven’t already 🙂

I have never once seen Mercury wheels on QBP. I think they’re still an internet brand.

Any reviews out yet? My stock giant rear hub just blew up so needing a wheelset.
